Task description

The company, which was originally founded as a family bakery in the city of Duisburg, today supplies wholesalers, restaurants and hotel chains with freshly baked and deep-frozen confectionery and bakery products. The fast-growing company has about 275 employees at its locations in Kurtscheid and Berlin. The turnover of the entire group amounts to ca. 90 million Euros. The company focuses on product safety and top quality. Numerous well-known customers like Metro AG, Tank & Rast or Lufthansa can rely on comprehensive checks and excellent taste of all Hack products. In order to keep its extremely high quality level, Hack AG is using the latest production technology and an optimal IT infrastructure which it has been realizing together with the company CSB-System AG.

Convincing Modular Structure and High Level of Integration

Hack AG has been using the industry-specific software solution CSB-System since 2001. “When selecting an ERP system, special importance should be paid to the system’s ability to fully integrate and control all business activities. We achieved the desired result by installing the CSBSystem”, explains Peter Hack, chairman of the board. In a first step the modules for sales, EDI, procurement and financial accounting were implemented. In a second step production planning and control, quality management and time management were installed: “The modular structure and the high level of integration are an absolute advantage of the CSB-System. It allowed us to tailor the software exactly to our needs. The administrative effort is so small that a team of just two to three employees is sufficient to fully ensure operation of the ERP solution”, reports Thomas Hoppe, IT team leader at Hack AG. Peter Hack points out another advantage: “The CSBSystem saves us a lot of time and costs regarding the daily compilation of important key figures like turnover, vendor statistics or contribution margins. As a result, important decision can be prepared quickly and in an optimal way.”
